Connecting 2 PCs using the RemoteView Super
Server
How does it work ?
Actually, it’s quite simple ……
RemoteView consists of 3 unique components :

A Server application : this
is the small application that your client will download and run. It
will create a connection back to your RemoteView Viewer, via the
RemoteView Super Server.

The RemoteView Super Server :
a highly secure web based server that will manage the flow of
traffic, information, and screen images between your client’s PC (
the Server ) and your PC ( the Viewer ). But you don’t need to worry
about this important link – it’s operated and fully managed by
RemoteView.

A Viewer application : this
is the application that you, as the support person, will run on your
PC. It will accept connections from the Server applications running
on your client’s PC, as managed by the RemoteView Super Server.
When using the RemoteView service, both the Server and Viewer can stand
behind a NAT firewall/router without having to configure port
forwarding. Being locally based, this repeater provides remote access
speeds not experienced when using international repeaters.
Once you have registered to use
RemoteView, you’ll receive a link that you can give to your clients to
download the small Server application. With a file size of less that
330kb, it’s a reasonably small and fast download, even on the slower
internet connections.
How to Connect ....
So let’s look at the practible
steps to setting up your first Remote Support Session in less time that
it takes to hop in your car and drive to the corner ……
First, you send your client an e-mail with a link to your customized RemoteView
Server application.
For your Client, it’s a simple 3 step process …
1. Your client Clicks on the e-mail link and downloads the file.
2. Click on Run
3. Click on Connect
Your client will then see the Status
box in the top left of their screen
That’s it !! Now your client can sit back and watch you work.
For you, the support side, it’s just as easy ….
1. Start your pre-installed RemoteView Viewer application and enter your
RemoteView password.
2. Click on the “Wait for Server” button. This will wait until your
client has started the Server application, and then automatically
initiate the connection to their PC.
You’re now ready to start helping your client from the comfort and
convenience of your own PC.
How to get started …..
Yet another simple process :
1. Register online to start using RemoteView
2. Purchase a block of RemoteView Bandwidth
Once you have competed the registration process, you’ll receive the
following :
1. e-mail confirmation of your registration.
2. a link to your unique Server application – the same link that you’ll
give to clients who need your help.
3. a download link to the RemoteView Viewer Installation File, for your
own Viewer application.
